Preschool

(Birth – Kindergarten)

At First Baptist Church, preschoolers are important and are always busy learning.  We know that the preschool years are the formative years and are crucial to his or her future.  We have our preschool areas set up and ready to help in forming the foundations that they need to know about themselves and God.  We want to be partners with the parents in helping their child grow in “wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man”.  We want them to associate God, Jesus, the Bible, and church with happy experiences.  We teach them through activities.  In art, blocks, books, nature, home-living, music, and puzzles, we show them about God.  Much of what they do we adults call “play” but to a child it is their “work” and how they learn.  We have special teachers that understand this and through love and caring they teach your child about God and His love for them.

Children

(1^st – 5^th Grades; 6th Grade, transitional Children-to-Youth)

During the Childhood years is when most children make the decision about their personal faith in God.  We provide Biblically-based activities and memory verses to teach the Bible and its truths.  Each grade builds on the last grade to teach the Bible.  We start in the 1^st grade and teach the books of the Bible.  Though to the  5^th grade the children are learning where to find different verses and Bible truths.  Our teachers are trained and ready to help these children to learn about Jesus and His plan for their lives. Sixth Graders are provided a separate class so that issues unique to this transitional year may be addressed with openness and confidentiality.

Youth

(7^th  - 12^th  grade)

During the youth years, students are looking for answers to the questions that they face each day.   We make Bible Study practical to where they live.  In Sunday School we have classes designed for each grade. All classes except our senior class is separated by gender to help meet the special needs that they are facing. Our desire is to help them find the answers to life questions.  We have caring adults that work with our youth that have the desire to see them mature and grow in their walk with the Lord.   This is a safe environment for them to meet and develop friendships with other youth.

Adults

(18 years and up)

Each Sunday adults meet in classes of various sizes and age groups to connect with others and to learn how the Bible can impact their daily lives.  We are mainly age graded so that you will be with people that are in the same season of life as you are.  Most people will say that being a part of a Sunday School group is that very important to them because they can find friends and lasting relationships.  It always helps to know others are going through some of the same struggles as you are and find encouragement in those that have been through it and survived.  They will frequently telephone or email each other during the week to encourage and to share prayer requests or answers to prayers.
