News

Text Box: Hey Youth,
If you are reading this you are officially out of school for the summer. That is, if you haven’t forgotten how to read. Soon, I will be out of school as well and I, too, will forget how to read. Together we will find a way to survive summer vacation. For now, embrace it, enjoy it, and for goodness sake, have fun.
Student Council, don’t forget our meeting on Sunday right after Sunday School. We will not be long, but we will provide lunch. Please be prepared to discuss June’s calendar of events.
Remember that June Sunday School will be a little different. On June 1st, we will all be in the cafeteria. For the rest of the Sundays in June, we will all be together in the library. It will be a lot of fun being one big happy youth group.
Ever wonder about your decision making? If so, join the youth group at the annex on Wednesdays at 6:00 for “Nite Life”. This month we will explore God’s word to see what it says about making decisions. Who knows, we may even have fun doing it. Be a part of “Nite Life” for music, games, fun, fellowship and food.
             Scott

Text Box: Thanks to the Youth Choir for a great job on Sunday afternoon as they presented “The Lifesong Project.” I am really proud of this group, and I look forward to the start of a new year in August. Enjoy your summer vacation!

The Worship Choir will not meet this weekend, due to Memorial Day. We will resume on June 1, and plan to sing on June 8. –Thanks.

Vacation- Ginger and I will be out of town for a few days over Memorial Day weekend. We will miss you on Sunday and will be praying for our services here. We’ll be back just in time for Bible School!

We have a chance one more time to show how flexible that we really are.  Starting June 1st we will be having Sunday School a little different due to the school’s schedule of cleaning and stripping floors.  Here is the following schedule until we move into our own building.
Adults – all adults will be in the gym with Sandi Stephens teaching.  This will begin on June 1.
Youth – On June 1, all the youth will meet in the cafeteria.  On June 8 and until we move all the youth will be in the library.
6th Grade – On June 1, they will meet in B6.  On June 8, they will be
in their regular room.
Children – On June 1, the children (1st – 5th grade) will be in their regular rooms.  On June 8, they will be in “E” building.
Preschool – On June 1 – regular rooms.  On June 8 and until we move they will be in “E” building.
“E” building is behind the gym.
Thank you so much for your cooperation.  Come and join the fun. This is not the time to stop coming.  It will take all of us to encourage and support each other.  If you have not filled out your survey form, please do so and turn in this Sunday.

Text Box: Heart to Heart
Travel to Israel and Greece with me.  Sandi and I are hosting a 10-day trip to Israel, January 5-14, 2009, and an optional extension to Athens, Greece, January 14-18.  In Israel we begin our tour of the Holy Land with dinner on the shores of the Sea of Galilee at Tiberias.  From Tiberias we tour Caesarea Philippi, the Sea of Galilee, Capernaum, Nazareth, the Jordan River, Mt. Carmel, Megiddo, Caesarea, the Mount of Olives, Gethsemane, Mt. Zion and Bethlehem.  The dead sea scrolls, the western wall, the old city, Qumran, Masada, the Dead Sea, the City of David, and the garden tomb will take you back in time and give you a new perspective as you read the Bible.  In Greece we will visit Athens, Corinth, Mycenae, the Acropolis, and Mars Hill where Paul preached to the philosophers.  Dr. Billy Simmons is our special faculty escort.  Brochures with details are available at our church office or contact me personally.
See You Sunday!
Bro. LaRue
