Text Box: Heart to Heart
Workday this Saturday.  Can you help us replace the topsoil around our new facilities this Saturday?  We begin work at 7:00 a.m.  Some items we will need for the job:  gloves, shovels, garden and yard rakes, a few wheel barrows, safety glasses for eye protection.
Here is the plan.  We will divide up into two types of teams:  touch teams and equipment teams.  Touch teams will work ahead of the equipment teams picking up debris to ready the specific sites for topsoil.  The equipment teams (consisting of two people, the equipment operator and a spotter who will watch for safety and assist the operator as needed) will follow the touch teams dumping and spreading topsoil.  Once the equipment teams have finished the rough grade of an area, touch teams will begin the finish grade with shovels, yard and garden rakes.  We will begin our work at the site entrance nearest the construction trailer and proceed systematically in a clockwise direction around the building.  There is plenty of work for all who can help us.
Equipment Teams needed.  We need a piece of equipment to load topsoil onto the dump truck.  At present we have two tractor teams and one dump truck team committed to work this Saturday.  We need another dump truck or two to get the work done more quickly and another tractor team would be helpful, too.  Do you have equipment that we could use or do you have friends that might be available with their equipment to help us this Saturday?
Saturday Workdays will continue.  From this point forward we will plan for workdays each Saturday until we have completed the topsoil backfill and the cleanup of the south half of our new property.  This is an opportunity for you to invest whatever time you can spare in the beautification of our new church home site.  Give the time you have available and know that it will be appreciated.

See You Sunday!

Text Box: Hey Youth,
Well, it looks as if our Student Council is in place. For those of you on the council, we will meet in May to discuss items to go on the June calendar. Be prepared to list any activities you want in June, including mall trips or water park trips. Remember, your input is very important. Talk to other members of the youth group to get ideas. The meeting time will be announced Sunday at the beginning of Sunday school.
Students, our church needs us Saturday for a workday. We will meet at the new church campus around 7:30 a.m. to help clear the lot. Wear old clothes. Oh, and Weston, wear gloves just in case there are bugs that eat people.
I know that you will want to be at “Nite Life” next week, April 30th. We will be having a digital picture Scavenger Hunt. Bring your own camera if you want, and we will have the slide show at the end of the night and have ice cream to go along with it. Make plans to come and bring a friend. It will be lots of fun!
You guys have a great weekend.
             Scott

Text Box: Brenda’s Notes…
When we walk into our new building in July this will be our “Sunday School Promotion Sunday.”  This will be a time when we are going back to the preschool - youth full slate of classes.  We know that we will see a growth spurt at that time and we must be ready.  We are going from 4 - 6 classes in the youth.  We will go from 4 to 6 classes in the children.  We hope to expand and begin some adult classes soon as well.  We have also had more of a turn over this year in workers so we are in need of more.  This on top of the greeters, ushers, welcome center people.  I am a firm believer that God puts into a church all that He needs to do the work of the church.  So saying that - Are you one of these workers that God has called to serve in His church?  Has God been laying a particular group or ministry on your heart?  Please be in prayer about this.  Ask God if he wants you to be in a particular place of ministry.  If you are led in an area—even if it is not one of these that I mentioned– please call me.  Also, be in prayer for the nominating committee as they work on this task that has been set before them.
This Sunday in Sunday School, and there will be some in the gym, you will be given a “Service Opportunity Survey.”  This is to let us know where you feel like the Lord is leading you.  You might just want more information about a certain area.  Please fill out a survey and turn in the following Sunday.  If you have any questions, please give me a call.
We need to all be about the Lord’s work.  God did not give us all the same gift or talents.  It takes us all to be the Body of Christ.
See you Sunday as we worship and serve together.
