Opportunity abounds! Each day we wake, each person we meet, each challenge we face, they all represent an opportunity for you to join God in demonstration of the difference Jesus Christ can make in a day, a life or a challenge. Seize the opportunities given you by God to join Him in a faith journey designed to reveal His glory and marvelous love to you and our world. Daily we can experience His glory and marvelous love. As we surrender ourselves to Christ and live in obedience to His Word our life takes on new dimensions. We become more concerned about meeting the needs of others. We become more concerned about others knowing and experiencing the love of God as we have come to know and experience the love of God. We strongly desire to worship God with our church family. The closer we find ourselves to God the more compassion and tenderness we have for hurting people. In short, what you do with the opportunities that come to you with each day, with each person you meet, with each challenge you face tells much about your personal relationship with God. How healthy is your relationship with God? Opportunity is God’s gift to you, a gift designed for your good and His glory.
Forty Days of Focused Prayer. Are you participating in this opportunity? Prayer guides are available at the church office, at our Sunday worship service, or online at www.fbclb.com. Your participation will significantly impact our church family and ministries, not to mention the benefit you will receive personally as you spend time daily with God in conversation about your life relationship with Him and about the needs and ministry opportunities of your church, community and world. Pick up a prayer guide today and join the team.
Student Summer Mission Work. Camp Baldwin, a ministry of the Baldwin Baptist Association, occupies 66 acres on Wolf Bay approximately 12 miles from Gulf Shores, Alabama. They are in the process of recruiting and hiring their 2008 summer staff. They are looking for hard working dedicated Christian young people to take advantage of a mission opportunity. Each year many campers make professions of faith, rededications, and some surrender to full-time Christian service as they are drawn closer to God by the Holy Spirit during their camping experience at Camp Baldwin. Wayne Bailey, assistant camp director, would love to discuss this ministry opportunity with any one interested in serving on staff this summer. Contact Wayne at wbailey@campbaldwin.org or go to their web site www.campbaldwin.org.

Text Box: Hey Youth,
Well, it was back to school this week. I know you all missed it and were really glad to be back. Yea, Right! Well, it is back to “Nite Life“ time. Remember to meet at the annex at 6:00 on Wednesdays for some great fun and excitement as well as music and food. Our study this month has been on “Absolute Truth” and what God’s word has to say about it. Come on and be a part of the study.
Creative movement is meeting on Tuesday’s from 6:30-7:30 in Mrs. Tami Martin’s room at Quarles. See a creative movement member for information or to join.
Youth choir meets on Sundays at 5:00 in the annex. Bro. John informed me that he needs students to do other roles instead of singing. Come by and see how you can help.
All right, we need to just settle on a work day. It seems that we have been running into one obstacle after another. We will have the work day on April 19th at 8:30 at the annex. I realize that some of you may have other plans. Please remember that we have a goal to raise of $10,000 and it takes more that just a few students to achieve that goal. To quote Mr. Rick Shepler, ”ministry is never convenient.” If you have any ideas for fund raisers, please see me or someone in our youth department and share it with us.
You all have done a great job with your outreach. You guys must have been real busy making those calls. I have seen a lot of familiar faces in the youth department. Keep up the good work.
     Have a great weekend.

Text Box: Brenda’s Notes . . .
This past week my family went to Houston, TX for a vacation.  The weather was really nice, but still not the real warm for my taste.  We did all the tourist stuff like the space center, children’s museum, and aquarium and zoo.  Those things were wonderful and I enjoyed them all.  The thing that really impressed me was the hotel.  We were great at every turn – by the time we walked into the lobby and when we would walk out the door.  They even had someone standing at the elevators in the morning to wish us a “Good Morning” and to see if we needed anything for that day.    We were asked that at every turn.  There were always smiles.  All this impressed Steven so much that as we were leaving on Friday, he wrote notes to the housekeepers and to the hotel owners.  We left the housekeeper one in our room and then Steven turned in the one to the hotel owners to the desk as we were leaving.  The lady read it and called Steven back and gave him a handful of Chocolates. (Just what we needed for a 7 hour trip home).  I say all this to say that if the people in a business can be this way, then we need to be that way when we are doing the Lord’s business.
We have a lot of people that are our guests each Sunday.  We can expect that to double or triple when we get into the new building.  We need to be ready.  I am proud of you that you have done so much toward that already.  I have had several guests that have commented to me how friendly you are to them and how you invite them to go to Sunday School with them.  YEA!  I am so thankful for a church that knows the meaning of showing the love of Christ and being His hands and feet.  I really think that at the end of it all the greatest thing would be to be given a “note of thanks” for all the special things we did in His name.  Keep it up.  It takes every one of us.
