The Finance Sub Committee will be presenting a Finance update to the Church Body at a special called business meeting very soon to update everyone on where we stand on spending and available funds to date.  More on this business meeting will be forthcoming.
 
 
 
 
 
Pre-School:
The Pre-School was successful in receiving a $300,000 grant from the Gulf Coast Long Term Recovery Fund.

Capital 
Campaign:
To date, 199 families have made commitments representing $1,342,354.57 over the next three years.  The children’s section raised $1,317.55.  Praise the Lord! 
 
Construction Update:
The Construction Sub Committee is working diligently with our Contractor, Wyatt, as we continue to move forward in the construction of our new facility. We have 
Text Box: completed site work successfully. There was an overrun of about 10,000 cubic yards of soil to remove and replace.  This was a big uncontrollable expense and took quite a bite out of our contingency fund.  
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Thank God that is behind us now.  Foundation work is currently underway.  Footers around the foundation are 98% complete.  The underground electrical and plumbing are complete in the education wing.   Water

FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH, LONG BEACH, ms

Text Box: connections (fire and water) are complete as well.  Storm sewers are  85% complete.
 
A Construction Schedule for June is enclosed  for those that may be  interested in following along with the progress of the construction phase.  As you can see from the schedule there is a lot involved.  We are moving along and walls should start going up soon!  Praise God.
 
Temporary Church Service Location:
Things have been working out wonderfully at our new temporary location, while the middle school gym is being renovated. This is a good example of how God provides!
 
 
 
 
 
Grounds and Maintenance Sub-Committee
The Grounds Sub Committee  has met and contracted with Groundscape, Inc. to complete our landscaping design.  This design will be used as a basis for bidding the project out and contractor selection.
 
Interior Design Update:
The Interior Design Sub-Committee still has many decisions to make in regard to the interior design, furnishings, color selections and fixtures to name 
Text Box: just a few.  This Committee and the Kitchen Sub-Committee in particular have made significant progress.  The Kitchen Committee has done an outstanding job in  completing design work and staying within our tight budgetary constraints.
