Text Box: Ground Breaking: The Building Committee and the Publicity Sub-Committee would like to thank everyone involved in making our ground breaking ceremony a success.  This is a huge step and another great day in the life of First Baptist Church Long Beach.  To God be the glory.   Financial Sub Committee:    We have spent roughly $2.1 million for land related expenses and architectural design work to date.  We project additional spending of $14.5 million.  We have approximately $9.3 million in available funds.  At present we need to borrow $1.5 Text Box: million from SBA and $3.7 Million from Hancock Bank to finance our project, a $5.2 million shortfall.   Pre-School: The Preschool has applied for another grant in the amount of $350,000 from the Gulf Coast Long Term Recovery Fund.   Please be in prayer for this grant that we have applied for.    Capital Campaign: As we gear up for the Capital Campaign, leadership training meetings have been held to help us all focus our resources on rebuilding God’s house.  Pray for God’s clear guidance if you are contacted to help in any way. Text Box: Church Services to Temporarily Move: We have been notified that the middle school gym floor will need to be replaced. Worship services will be moved from the gym to the middle school cafeteria sometime late May or early June. Text Box: Tommy Kellogg to serve on the Committee.  Jerry Davis, Chair, is also serving as the primary point of contact with Wyatt during the construction phase of the project.   Site work is expected to last 2 months, followed by 12 months of construction.                 Safety First: We know that everyone is excited about our new property, and is more excited about construction beginning, but we ask that you stay clear of the danger areas.  We are asking that you especially stay out of the safety fencing in the excavation area.   Interior Design Sub-Committee: We still have many decisions to make in regard to the interior design, furnishings, colors, fixtures, and kitchen equipment, but our Interior Design Sub Committee and the kitchen team in particular have been making significant progress to remain within budget and to design a functional kitchen at the same time.       Text Box: Grounds and Maintenance Sub-Committee Our Grounds Sub Committee has accepted the responsibility for design and landscaping our new property.  They will be interviewing potential contractors over the next few weeks.  In addition, they are marking trees we want to remain on the south end of our new property after clearing.   Prayer Sub-Committee: We ask that you pray specifically  for the following: · New member for Construction Sub-Committee · Grant Opportunities · Capital Stewardship Campaign beginning April 22 · The work of our Building Committee Members · The work of our Sub-Committee Members · Church Staff · Clear communication and understanding                             Text Box:                   Upcoming Dates of Interest:   · Apr 22 – Stewardship Campaign begins   Text Box: Page 2
